Gmail-Call Phones Features

Until now, Gmail voice and video chat makes it is easy to connect with people using your computer’s microphone device  however this required both people are connected through their computers at same time,  signed through Gmail.  It’s generally not possible to spend all the day in front of our  computers,  Google find out the way  “you could call people directly on their phones” without any hurdle.

As per Google, the Calls to the U.S. and Canada will be free at least the rest of the year and calls to other countries will be billed at very low rates. Google is trying to make these rates really cheap with calls to the U.K., France, Germany, China, Japan—and many more countries—for as little as $0.02 per minute.

Dialing a phone number will work just like a normal phone. You need to just click “Call phone” at the top of your chat list and dial a number or enter a contact’s name.

Google is testing this feature internally and have found it to be useful in a different situations enabling  you to make cheap international calls right from Gmail.
